MONDAY MEDITATIONS FOR HEALING: Leadership & A Commitment to Self for Caregivers

Good Morning!

Its the Happy Nurse here guest posting the Monday Meditation.

Have a WONDERFUL week!

Today's Quote

"Outstanding leaders go out of their way to boost the
self-esteem of their personnel.

If people believe in themselves, it's amazing what they can accomplish."

~Sam Walton

A Commitment to Self for Caregivers
(whether you are a healthcare provider or a family member caring for a loved one):

Just for today, I will try to boost my own self-esteem when I do something well rather than knock myself down when I make a mistake.

This week I will also try to boost the self-esteem of others rather than criticize.

I will believe in myself and in others.

MONDAY MEDITATIONS FOR HEALING: Aim For The Stars & A Commitment to Self for Caregivers

Good Morning!  Here is today's meditation to inspire your spirit to self-healing this week!

Have a WONDERFUL week!

Today's Quote

"If You Aim At Nothing, You Will Hit It Every Time."

~Zig Ziglar

A Commitment to Self for Caregivers
(whether you are a healthcare provider or a family member caring for a loved one):

Having a dream is one thing, having a goal is something else.

Dreams are what we HOPE will happen.
Goals are what we WORK to MAKE happen!

This week, I will find a quiet time to reach inside myself, meditate with my Higher Power and write down the dreams of my heart.

I will pick one dream and come up with a plan for how to achieve it.

I will set a deadline and take one action this week to begin my purposeful journey.

I will aim for the stars and build a ladder to get there.

MONDAY MEDITATIONS FOR HEALING: Each Day's Gifts & A Commitment to Self for Caregivers

Good Morning!

Here is today's meditation to inspire your spirit to self-healing this week!
Have a WONDERFUL week!

Today's Quote

"Each day comes bearing its own gifts.

Untie the ribbons."

~Ruth Ann Schabacker

A Commitment to Self for Caregivers
(whether you are a healthcare provider or a family member caring for a loved one):

This week, I will remind myself that hoping for the future and longing for the past are ruining my ability to find the joy in my present moment.

Sometimes its easy to focus on the bad and be afraid to see or even accept the good.  But the exciting news is that we always have a choice.

Just for today, I will open my eyes and look for the gifts that exist in each day.  And when I find them, I commit to have the courage to open the box before my expectations extinguish my excitement!

MONDAY MEDITATIONS FOR HEALING: A Commitment to Self for Caregivers & Perfection is Impossible

Good Morning!  Here is today's meditation to inspire your spirit to self-healing this week!  I realize that many of you long time readers have seen this one in the past--I just feel that it really speaks to my heart right now so I'd like to share it again! I hope it is helpful.

Have a WONDERFUL week!

Today's Quote

Today, I ask my Higher Power for the ability to accept and love myself for where I am today.

Help me remind myself that I am a work in progress

Like a tree that grows from self-care and nurturing,
I will only grow if I'm gentle with myself.

A Commitment to Self for Caregivers
(whether you are a healthcare provider or a family member caring for a loved one):

This week I will remind myself that there is no "perfect" way to care for someone.

Perfection is impossible, just doing our best for today is enough.

MONDAY MEDITATIONS FOR HEALING: A Commitment to Self for Caregivers & The Time is Now

Good Morning!
Here is today's meditation to inspire your spirit to self-healing this week!
Have a WONDERFUL week!

Today's Quote

"Never imagine that there will be time later to accomplish something, because that later time will turn out to have been yesterday."

~Valerie Jenkins, age seventy-four
from "30 Lessons for Living: Tried & True Advice from the Wisest Americans" by Dr. Karl Pillemer

A Commitment to Self for Caregivers
(whether you are a healthcare provider or a family member caring for a loved one):

Caring for others makes it easy to shelve our dreams in favor of someone else's comfort.  Sacrificing everything for others sounds good on paper but in real life it builds resentments and can poison even the sweetest hearts to bitterness.

This week I will remember that even though I spend my days and nights caring for others I still need to keep my OWN dreams alive.

With that in mind, I will pause for a moment today and write down a dream I have packed away as I've cared for others.

Then I will make a list of small things I can do everyday to keep moving towards that dream, no matter what.

I commit to do this for myself because I know that there may not be enough tomorrows to make my dream come true if I don't start today.

MONDAY MEDITATIONS FOR HEALING: A Commitment to Self for Caregivers & Choosing Serenity

Good Morning!
Here is today's meditation to inspire your spirit to self-healing this week!
Have a WONDERFUL week!

Today's Quote

Peace:

It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work.

It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

~Unknown (but on my favorite coffee mug :-))

A Commitment to Self for Caregivers
(whether you are a healthcare provider or a family member caring for a loved one):

This week I will remind myself that I cannot control the behavior of those around me.

I will remember however that no matter how THEY behave or what situation I am in, I always have a choice with MY behavior:

Will I choose to reach into myself to find serenity & let the chaos flow around me (but not in me)?  Or will I jump into the chaos and add my own fuel to the fire?

Let me be willing to choose serenity this week.
